Venue Review

Venue must be one of the most misused and abused words in the English language. Rarely does a day go by that I do not hear someone mangle this perfectly good noun. The language police are on to you!

For the record, venue does not mean activity, recommendation or sponsorship (just three of the erroneous usages to which I have been subjected in the past week). Venue means place.

To wit: This blog is my venue for venting my frustrations. The location of my unloading. The locale to which I turn for clearing my chest. The ground zero for whatever bugs me. My refuge for purging.

I feel better now.
