Irate Radio

For causes unknown, this week I suddenly lost the satellite radio signal in my Toyota. Ordinarily, this might have been just a blip on my day, except that I have been having ongoing problems with my XM Sirius account.

For weeks, I received emails from the company expressing regrets about my decision to discontinue my service. Not. Every time I called to straighten out the billing, the ultra-polite Filipino customer service representative would assure me that everything was rectified and I would have no further problem.  But inevitably, I would receive another regrettable email.

Then I lost the signal on my home radio.  Same routine.

I finally stopped receiving the emails and starting receiving the signal at home, and now I've lost the signal in my car. Par the for the course, I spent a cumulative total of about an hour parked in the driveway yesterday, on the phone with XM trying to get the signal  restored. Five remote attempts later, the signal still is not working. But undoubtedly the now-corrected billing is racking up without missing a beat.

Sigh. Guess what I'll be doing for at least part of today? Back into the driveway for me. But even if I get it worked out, I'll be on the edge of my (driver's) seat, wondering if or when our other car will hit the XM Sirius stop signal. That will really be the end of the road.
